The Whistle Pig 10 year old is the first whisky produced by the distillery, and it is with this whisky that everything started. In 2007 the Whistle Pig team bought an old farm in Vermont to create their distillery. With the help of their master distiller, they set out to find a stock of whisky to create their first blend. It was then that they discovered a stock of Rye Whisky aged in the Great North and underused. Thanks to this fund, in which they saw the potential, they were able to launch their production and create their very first whisky: the Whistle Pig 10 Year Old.
Tasting Note
- Colour: A lovely golden colour, reminiscent of maple syrup.
- Nose: Rather greedy, we find notes of allspice, orange peel, oak anise and caramel.
- Palate: Sweet, the palate reveals aromas of caramel and vanilla completed by mentholated flavours which bring a little freshness to the whole.
- Finish: Long and very greedy, the finish is dominated by caramel.
