The Lakes Whiskymaker’s Reserve series concludes (a real shame it’s ending) with another sherry-tastic release that proves English whisky can compete with the best. For No.7, it’s a blend of oloroso, PX, and red wine casks, comprising Spanish and American oak, that was bottled at 52% ABV non-chill filtered, with natural colour.
Tasting Note
Nose Creamy hazelnut, clove, raspberry, stewed plums, chocolate-coated raisins, salted caramel and sandalwood.
Palate Toffee popcorn, apricot jam, almond friands, honeyed fruits, graham crackers, red berries, orange peel, and woody spice.
Finish Orchard fruit and dark chocolate lingers.
