Tasting notes:
Nose: Freshly-picked strawberries – aromatic and earthy. Lots of herbal notes, especially basil and dill. A warm peppery juniper comes through and an oakiness, along with a subtle loose-leaf tobacco smoke.
Palate: The strawberry sweetness comes through along with darker fruits, the spicy pepper and of course, that delicious balsamic. The woody notes are more prominent on the palate. With time, the gin becomes a lot more savoury as the earthy juniper comes through.
Finish: Warm and woody.
Overall: A deliciously surprising gin, and a celebration of Aceto di Balsamico!
