This very rare and highly sought-after 10 year old Laphroaig Cask Strength Red Stripe Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes from the famous cask strength series and is the successor to the legendary Laphroaig Cask Strength Green Stripe. Bottled in the year 2005-2007 at cask strength 55.7% abv, this terrific single malt is one of the legendary whiskies from Laphroaig, where the rough Atlantic climate around the island of Islay is literally felt on the tongue. The oak casks used in the production of the 10 years Laphroaig cask strength scotch whisky are lightly fired before filling to impart the slightly sweet vanilla-nuttiness of the oak. The Islay single malt whisky is then matured in Laphroaig s warehouses for a period of 10 years before being bottled at cask strength (straight from the wood).

Tasting Note
Nose: Subdued and shy at first, sweet fruit, pears, red apples, sweet peat, gentle smoke and ashes.
Palate: sweet peat, wet ashes in paste form, fruity again with tropical fruitiness edge, iodine and a touch of salt.
Finish: Long, ashy, peat, sweet fruit red apples. Overall it’s very ashy and velvety.
