PALATE:Same complex flavors on the palate. With a full and oily mouthfeel and lots of depth. The complexity of this whisky goes on and on. from citrus notes to tropical flavors. from burned wood to aromatic peat smoke. from dark chocolate to candied coated caramel and vanilla.
FINISH: Long and complex. After you swallow you can taste the creamy vanilla, raisins and caramel with lots of dark chocolate and aromatic spices with soft peat smoke.
CONCLUSION: Highland Park’s King Christian I was originally released for the Travel Retail Market as part of their Warrior Series. Beautifully presented in a teardrop decanter (along with a silver cradle, as teardrops aren’t too good at standing up by themselves), this expression was drawn from a combination of refills hogshead and butt casks. Only 300 bottles were produced.
The whisky itself marries together honey sweetness with tropical notes and spice with a finish encased in soft smokiness, showing the diversity of its influences, without ever losing sight of our classic Highland Park style.
