Tasting Note
Nose: Floral, with thick dried fruit; there are raisins, dates and some candied peels.
Palate: The palate is as thick as the nose suggests. The dried fruit dominates… add figs to the mix, plus there’s sweet marmalade, chocolate and leather, with a good jolt of pepper.
Finish: Dark, dark chocolate, 80 percent cocoa solids at least. A balanced bitterness over marmalade caramel.
Overall: Thick, dark and reassuring. A whisky you have to chew.
