Another year, another tasty Founder’s Choice expression from the Cotswolds Distillery! Like its predecessor, the 2019 edition Founder’s Choice spent its time maturing in American oak red wine casks that were shaved, toasted and re-charred, following a process that was created by Dr. Jim Swan. Following maturation, this tasty treat gets bottled up at cask strength, letting all those malty, fruity, toasty flavours sing. 2,500 bottles were released in this batch.
Tasting Note
Nose: Mango, peach and pear, with a slow build of mocha and Matchmakers (the minty chocolate sticks).
Palate: Mocha sticks around, joined by cinnamon, fiery ginger, foam strawberry sweeties and marmalade.
Finish: Bready on the finish, plus some of those bright mango notes return.
